Emergency Response Vehicles

The National Guard, firefighters, police, and medical responders are increasingly using Mobile Contingency Response Communications Systems, radio-interoperability systems that allow them to communicate with each other by linking together incompatible communications systems. To solve the problems of communication in aftermath of natural disaster or terrorist attack mobile phone companies bring in the cells on wheels (COWs), cells on light trucks (COLTs) or cell in a box (CIAB) . The COWs and COLTs are independent and mobile cellular sites, in set with portable antenna, transceivers, rectifiers, switches, and base station equipment. They are also called NERVs which stands for Network Emergency Response Vehicles.
